Step 2: Design the tool
Every project has its challenges. We like to tackle the biggest challenge first in order to minimize your risk. Once that challenge is solved, we move forward to tackle any other challenges. When we start with a sound strategy (Step 1), we are less likely to run into unsolvable problems later.
During this process, we continue to partner with you. We hold regular meetings and design reviews. If significant changes to the project are necessary, we work together to identify them early. The only time change orders need to be processed is when additional costs will exceed our original bid.
The benefits to you:
- Working together allows the flexibility to change as the design matures, which results in a better product.
- Most changes are easy, and some improvements will not add any cost. When we agree on changes, we can make those quickly so your project is not delayed.
- Through our partnership you have a clear understanding of the project every step of the way.
Case study:
Our client asked for a high volume chip programming tool. The original scope of this project was to clean-up an existing design and replicate it. We recommended a number of changes to the tool design to make it easier to use, more reliable, and easier to maintain. Read more about this case study.
Deliverables:
At the end of Step 2, you will receive:
- approved detailed 2D and 3D drawings
- organized bill of materials
