Parts Procurement

Step 3: Procure the parts

Once the design is complete, it’s time to procure the parts. Here you have some options. We can purchase the parts and add a 15% markup. You can purchase the parts and deliver them to us for assembly. Or, in some cases, our clients ask us to purchase some parts while they purchase others.

The benefit to you:

  • In a traditional, fixed-bid project, most firms pad the estimate for parts because there are so many unknowns at the beginning of the project. With time and materials, you save money because you pay only the cost of the parts and a small 15% markup.
  • Our flexible purchasing options make sure you get the parts you want at the best possible price.

Case study:

Our client needed a pin alignment tool that required a $10,000 vision system. This system was included in the proposal and was approved by the client. Just before it was ordered, however, the customer discovered they had a vision system on an old tool, which we were able to use, saving them $10,000. Read more about this case study.
