The strategy stage starts by specifying the process, not the tool.
We jump start the project by working together from the beginning. You tell us what you want the tool to accomplish, and we will work with your engineers to define the best strategy for the tool. During this collaborative stage we start with hand sketches and then develop rough 3D models to make sure we are on the right track.
Some of our clients like to enter into an agreement to complete just this first step. Once we complete the concept development phase, you are free to put the project out to bid or continue development with us. Either way, starting with a sound strategy helps avoid problems later. The cost of this phase is usually around $10,000.
The benefits to you:
- This jumpstart saves you the time and effort of developing full project specifications that are likely to change down the road.
- You access our full expertise early in the project. We help you avoid mistakes or costly changes later.
- Our jumpstart requires fewer of your resources. Your staff can be involved with other projects as we help get this one started.
- Your project gets started sooner, which means it will be completed sooner.
Deliverables:
At the end of Step 1, you will receive:
- Rough 3D models
- Complete tool requirements
- Timeline
- A detailed price based on time and materials with a not-to-exceed price.
Case study:
We developed a ball load and press tool. The original scope of this project was to design a simple three-station tool that required operators to visually check parts for proper assembly. After an internal brainstorm session, we proposed the integrated solution that would provide a more comprehensive tool. To find out more read the full case study.
