Engineering excellence, built for work that matters

Andrews Cooper is an engineering consultancy built for complex, high-stakes challenges — where performance, reliability, and execution matter as much as innovation.

We partner with organizations tackling ambitious problems, helping them move from uncertainty to confidence through disciplined engineering, systems thinking, and accountability at every stage of the journey.
Engineering Integrity
We make decisions based on evidence, rigor, and what will hold up in the real world — not what’s easiest or fastest in the moment.
Curiosity with Purpose
We’re driven to understand the problem deeply, explore what’s possible, and apply invention where it creates real value.
Partnership Over Transactions
We integrate with our clients’ teams, share ownership, and stay accountable through challenges — not just milestones.
Craftsmanship & Accountability
We take pride in well-engineered work, clear documentation, and outcomes our clients can stand behind.
about us
Built by engineers, for engineers
Co-Founders Neal Andrews and Steve Cooper, 1999
Andrews Cooper was founded with a simple belief: great engineering requires both invention and discipline.

From the beginning, the company focused on solving complex technical problems. The kind that don’t come with clear specifications and can’t afford failure. Over time, that focus shaped who we are today: a trusted engineering partner for organizations working in regulated, high-stakes, and fast-moving environments.

As technologies evolved and client needs expanded, Andrews Cooper grew its capabilities across product development, automation, testing, and embedded engineering; always with an emphasis on systems thinking and real-world execution.

Today, Andrews Cooper partners with teams ranging from early-stage innovators to Fortune-scale organizations, united by a shared need for precision, reliability, and confidence in their engineering decisions.
Our History
1999
Neal Andrews and Steve Cooper work as mechanical engineers in HP’s medical division in McMinnville, Oregon, focused on high-reliability medical products. When HP announces the closure of the McMinnville site, it creates an opportunity to pursue a different approach to engineering work.
2000
Andrews Cooper is founded to provide engineering services focused on complex electromechanical systems and real-world performance.
2005
The company grows to five employees working out of the McMinnville office and begins supporting a broader range of technically demanding engineering programs.
2010
Andrews Cooper reaches 15 employees across Corvallis, McMinnville, and Portland, expanding capabilities to include electrical engineering, automation, and systems-level work.
2015
With approximately 30 employees, Andrews Cooper establishes a Seattle team, extending its presence into a larger technology market and supporting work in robotics and consumer electronics.
2020
The company surpasses 100 employees and expands automation, robotics, and test engineering capabilities to support clients across the full product lifecycle.
2025+
Andrews Cooper employs nearly 200 people, with teams across the Pacific Northwest, Silicon Valley and beyond, continuing to focus on complex engineering challenges and production-ready solutions.
